Have you ever wondered why a veil by Richard Designs is so much smoother and softer?

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Richard Designs’ bridal veils are renowned for their soft and smooth finish and customers and brides often ask us how we manage to achieve these results.

Our veiling is exclusively manufactured to our specifications using the latest machinery and finest yarn available. No other bridal manufacturer in the UK has access to this netting and you can see in the image below our fabric being made. This roll is 6 metres wide, you may be able to see at the bottom right of this image that the fabric is split into two smaller rolls of 3 metres wide, which we use to make your train length veils 108”,126” and 144”; don’t forget all of our veil designs are available in these lengths. Over 5,600 individual threads are used on this machine; you can see them on the large reels at the top of the machine. After the knitting process the fine fabric is dyed and coated with resin to give a smooth finish; you can see a selection of our most popular veil colours in our buying bridal wear guide and we hope to have a new shade available for summer 2010.
