Advice – Petticoats
This page is for advice regarding our petticoats, if you’re looking for pictures of our petticoats, click here.
The right petticoat can make all the difference to your wedding dress. It should support and enhance the shape of your gown and make it easier for you to walk and sit down in your dress by keeping the hem away from your legs, giving the appearance of a shapely waist and hip line. Wearing a hooped underskirt will mean you really float down the aisle.
Different petticoat shapes include fishtail, full knee and the simple hooped style. Different effects can be achieved by varying the number of layers a petticoat has. The Blue Ribbon Petticoat collection succeeds in including all shapes and styles in line with current dress fashions.
We only use the finest materials for our petticoats, which not only make them comfortable to wear, but they also appear as a work of art themselves – they are simply beautiful. This is especially true of our styles which incorporate lace into the upper layer, creating a truly feminine luxury to your dress.
All of our petticoats are finished with a small blue ribbon for that ‘something blue’, so that you know that you are wearing something special, giving you a boost of confidence.

Our petticoats are not just available in the standard white and ivory, but also in striking silver and black. Sizes are small, medium or large, and all petticoats are supplied with a comfortable and flattering power-net and elastic waist, with a Velcro closure available at no extra charge for XL and XXL sizes.

Blue Ribbon Petticoats

When launched in 2008, the Blue Ribbon Petticoats collection was a welcome addition to the market. Providing innovative petticoat designs that are sensitive the wearer’s needs, we were able to combine both comfort and structured shape, with a touch of discrete luxury. We achieved this by extensive research of what was missing in the market, and by using our highly skilled and experienced team of designers. We know which fabrics work well together and how to let them achieve their potential, and this is proven in the great success of this collection in such a short space of time.
