This September’s BBEH promises to have some fantastic new styles of hats and fascinators after our most successful Moda show yet in August.

Fascinators include the addition of the versatile fabric crin, which has been used creatively by our design team to create height and shape without weighing down the wearer.

Beautiful origami flowers adorn both our hats and fascinators, which are available in a huge range of colours.

Our highly skilled milliners have perfected the art of overlaying lace onto sinamay which results in stunning eye-catching results like this:

What can we expect to see in the new collection?
This collection has a very different feel to anything we’ve done before, much more innovative. I now have a team of four designers working along side me, so there is much more time to work through new ideas and techniques.

What kind of ‘innovations’ have you included?
It’s lovely to see more colour coming back into the gown designs, so we have incorporated antique silver filigrees and stones and even a few pieces with antique copper, muted tones such as nude, beige and fawn work really well with many of the new styles.

The veils look amazing, with many details taken directly from the new tiaras, we’ve also taken direction from some of our top customers to create some really light floaty veils for your destination weddings.

Magnetic clasps have been really popular, so you will see many more on this seasons necklaces and bracelets, again matching details with tiaras there are cuff bracelets and statement earrings alongside charm style necklaces.

Any last words for us?
I really can’t wait to get everything on display at Harrogate!

As you can see from our pictures, the stand looked better than ever, a sea of colour broken up by garments kindly donated by our customers. Many thanks to those shops who provided the dresses, they really added something special to the display. The garments also offered a great demonstration of our special colour-matching service. All of the hats and fascinators were custom-made and designed to complete the head-to-toe look; from size and shape to feather, crystal and sinamay colour.

We are delighted that not only have many existing customers once again chosen to use us as their key millinery supplier for the forthcoming season, we have also added many new accounts to our growing customer base. Many New Shapes on Show

A great deal of time and effort has been concentrated on creating some truly unique new shapes and we are sure you will appreciate the creativity that we are offering at this show.  New shaped brims include the ‘Side Turn’ and ‘Pointed Lip’, which have a choice of crowns to match. We have worked directly with our hat block manufacturers to create an exclusive and original new shape that you will not find anywhere else.  On top of this we have updated our popular domed crown with one that is a little deeper in height and can offer a new ‘Oval Brim’, which is a nice medium size for the less daring clientèle.

The star of the show is our new ‘Sweeping Lip’ brim with coordinating crown, an exclusive shape which we have spent many months designing, based on current trends and feedback from customers.  This is offered with a full height, dramatic side lip or a slightly shorter variation.  Both are decorated with complementary trim that really accentuates the dynamic line of this contemporary style.

Themes

You will notice a running theme throughout the collection.  This is illustrated through the choice of overlays that we have included on our hats and fascinators.  A beautiful corded lace that we have sourced, in the season’s popular colours, has been used in a number of ways and really adds an element of depth to the collection as a whole.  As always, our designers have taken great care to bring you the latest colours and textures to complement the coming seasons garments.

With our keen eye for trends, we have incorporated lace with origami flowers and ruffled textured fabrics, that are key within Spring/Summer occasion wear fashion collections.

Our 10th Moda show is going to be our best yet, with dozens of new hat shapes in the collection, we can hardly wait to show them off! Today we talk about the colour ways that we can carefully develop to match your garments, as well as our new beautiful fascinators.

Colour is King!

	Colour is key to a successful accessory and we offer a colour matching service that is quite exceptional!  On display at Moda we will have a demonstration of this service with a selection of garments kindly loaned by some of our key stockists, teamed with a colour coordinating hat and fascinator. So please come and judge for yourself.
	When ordering a hat or fascinator from us you can specify exactly what colours you would like; from feathers and crystals to sinamay and petersham, we have hundreds of colours in stock! Alternatively you can leave it to our wonderful design team who can work from a picture or a swatch of fabric and build a truly unique accessory for your client.
	Spring 2011 and Autumn 2010 shapes are catered for with samples in a rainbow of colours to coordinate with garments that you will be receiving shortly and those that you will be ordering at show. Trend led berry shades and jewel tones of our colour palette ‘A Magnificent Jewel Parade’, are featured for Autumn 2010.
	The palette for Spring 2011, ‘A Colourful Embrace’, as indicated by the name is bubbling over with positive, energetic colours such as apple, azalea and yellow, toned with subtle summer shades of oriental orchid and ocean wave.

Big Bold Fascinators

This season fascinators are big and bold with many incorporating translucent veil effect forms that create volume, but are not imposing on the wearer.  Our hand crafted sinamay pieces are very ‘on trend’ and have become even more technically advanced.

Crin features heavily this time, we have really exploited its flexible, sculptural qualities, while remaining fluid and light.  Look out for our trademark jewellery embellishments made from ‘Swarovski Elements’ components and of course our handmade blossoms and bows!

	Kelly Harper Our head designer for 6 years, Kelly has been creating beautiful hats and fascinators since the launch of the Boutique Collection. Kelly can’t wait to show you the new collection, and is always on hand with technical knowledge as well as her expertise on current colour trends and fashions. 	Kelly Herd Our ‘other’ Kelly is an expert on hats, being involved in design, manufacture and colour matching. Her recent move to the customer service team means that you may have spoken to her about your colour matches on the phone, and she is looking forward to getting to know you better at Moda.
	Benjamin Dicks Benjamin has proven himself to be a world-class milliner, producing the highest quality hats time and again for our customers. A veteran of the Moda show, many of you will recognise him and his impressive memory for shapes and colours!
	Ben Allen Ben is our company representative for the south of the UK and Republic of Ireland so many of you will already know him well. With his extensive knowledge of what sells and regional variations he will be able to guide you through our wonderful collection.
	Shaun Walker Shaun is our very popular company representative for the north of the UK and Northern Ireland, and with over 10 years experience as a designer and pattern cutter himself, his eye for detail is second-to-none.
	Richard Allen Richard is well known to many of our customers and, in his usual effortless style, will be able to help you choose the perfect collection of hats for your latest garments. Following these trend patterns, we have identified with Brides opting for the sometimes easier and less fussy destination wedding.  Many wedding gown designers have answered this trend by designing ranges that are much lighter, less formal and free flowing for the Bride abroad.

With this in mind we have taken the theme of floral forms a step further with the inclusion or a large selection of accessories designed specifically for the more tropical easy-going mood of this type of wedding.  Above you can see a F183 fascinator which is proving extremely popular; a handmade silk flower which is complemented wonderfully with sparkling set-stone crystals. The F116 fascinator below is an illustration of how touches of colour and a variety of sizes and shapes make this flower arrangement collection distinctly destination! The petals in this flower are handmade from Swarovski crystal fabric, which is covered in hundreds of tiny crystals which will shimmer beautifully in the sun.
