Today we are sharing with you the bestselling new veils, tiaras and jewellery from the BBEH in September.

The new collection was such a hit at the show, with both existing and new customers being drawn in by the beautiful Victorian displays. You were literally transported to a Victorian boudoir on Stand M33, as dressing tables and wardrobes bursting with treasures were waiting to be explored.

The new collection’s Victorian-Inspired theme was extremely popular, working well with current gown trends. Thank you for all of your feedback on the new collection. Bridal Fascinators

Fascinator style F224 oozes sophistication and class. Simple yet striking the feather and filigree detail that sits on the side is finished off perfectly with a delicate birdcage veil.

The FQ40 has been popular for several seasons, so it was no wonder people snapped it up at the Bridal Market. Delicate feathers and complementing crystals make this a classic style for brides and mother of the bride.

The F225 is a really sweet style. The spotted tulle bird cage veil would work really well with a 50s style dress and the glitzy disc and bouncy flowers make this a fun piece to wear. Of course this style, as with all of the fascinators, can be made in different colours for different occasions.

Like the F224, the F227 is small and easy to wear. The striking silver detail on the base works well with many current gowns and the feather flower is also on-trend.

Jewelry

The P583 necklace, earring and bracelet set is part of the Victorian Inspired collection, and combines many of the key influences of the era. Laces, cameos, sequins, filigrees and buttons have been layered by our designers and then finished off with a twist of pearl and crystal strands.

The P538 jewelry set was released in March this year, and caters for the bride who wants to make a statement with her jewelry. Elaborate twists of various sized pearls and crystals make up this set.

P584 is similar to the P583 but is simpler and makes a feature of the Swarovski pearls at the neckline. The necklace ties together with a soft silver ribbon for an extra touch of texture and glamour.

The cuff bracelet P575B is a simple way to make a statement at your wedding. The magnetic clasp means it is easy to dress your brides in the shop as it simply snaps shut – no fiddling required!

Blue Ribbon Petticoats & Shrugs

The Bridal Market was the first time we showed our range of Blue Ribbon Petticoats & Shrugs to our US customers and we are pleased to say that you all loved them! Their femininity, high quality finish and sensitive design means they were a real hit!

The fishtail petticoat BR11 not only has three layers of net but also incorporates one hoop to make it easy to walk on your wedding day.

The simplest style, the a-line BR1 has two hoops and a frill, and will work with many dresses.

BR8 is a stunning style perfect for gowns that are shaped at the hips and flare at the hem. It also has a hoop to keep the net away from your legs.

The most popular shrug at the Bridal Market was the SH1-9 which is a short sleeved style with fine tulle, flowers and diamante. This shrug can be made in a wide selection of colours to match any gown.

All Blue Ribbon petticoats and shrugs come with a small blue bow sewn into the design for your ‘something blue’!

The cultural events, artistic movements and social fashions of the Victorian era influenced more areas of our lives than many of us are aware of. For this collection we have immersed ourselves into a historical ocean of inspiration, looking at the modest, moral and majestic. Modesty was key to the Victorian look, it was a time when a virtuous bride always turned out in her finest for all occasions, not least her wedding day, when lace, pearls, brooches and ruffles were a requirement and indulgence was the dress code!

‘Victorian Sonnets and Floral Bonnets’

This Victorian inspired collection has been carefully created to combine vintage style elements, inspired by the Victorian era with a contemporary use of fresh ivory lace and bright Swarovski crystals.

This exquisite dress by Alice Temperly is beautifully elegant, the French lace and detailed embellishment using bugle beads and sequins creates a unique and stylish feel to the gown. To complement this gown an intricate side spray tiara would work perfectly, highlighting the sparkle within the embellishment. Choosing a headdress and jewellery with a hint of silver and antique silver will enhance the historic regency qualities of the dress while still creating a modern look. Zara and her rugby captain husband-to-be Mike have kept everything about their wedding low-key so far. It is often reported that despite being the Queen’s grandchildren, Zara and her brother Peter Phillips are down to earth and like to live relatively private lives. We think that she therefore will choose understated, elegant accessories.

A traditional tiara is the norm for a royal wedding, and this understated silver tiara TR1311A would be perfect for Zara.

Today our Head of Design Kelly shares with us her views on Catherine Middleton’s tiara and jewellery worn at her royal wedding to Prince William on 29th April.

The Royal Tiara

The Tiara was, as expected really, from the royal collection. Catherine’s ‘Something Borrowed’ was on loan from the Queen’s private collection, made by Cartier in 1936, and a present for the late Queen Mother. Traditional yet discreet, the tiara sat high enough to lift the soft draped veil from her face and allowed for her hair to be raised behind it. I feel a trend generating from this mid-height tiara, perhaps even a return to the traditional central tiara returning to popularity, to usurp the sidepiece as top tiara!

The beauty of a wearing a central design such as the this tiara is that there are options for where you wear your veil. Whether it is at the back of your head, neatly nestled beneath a creative up do and falling effortlessly down the nape of your neck, popular with more slender style gowns and particularly for destination weddings. Or prominently positioned at the top of the head behind the tiara, as Catherine did, allowing the use of the blusher, and commencing the proceedings with classical splendour! Although the popularity of the sidepiece allows for some more creative and contemporary designs it can make positioning a veil tricky. Many people opt to wear a single tier, which disregards the blusher entirely and allows for full focus on a rather complex sidepiece, but this is a very modern look and therefore I feel that it will not suit all brides.

Although the structured form of Catherine Middleton’s tiara is very traditional, it is simply clear diamond and quite contemporary by Crown Jewel standards. The ‘organic’ form of the crests of diamonds, which follows a symmetry that is classic and yet stylised, is reminiscent of tiaras from our Indian Summer and Fish-tail Fantasies and Pearly Persuasions inspired collections.

With such a distinctive shaped tiara that is sure to inspire trends, I’m sure that you will love our adaptation of the royal tiara! We hope to be able to create some Royal-inspired designs in the next collection for all your future Princess Bride’s requests. At present our collection contains a vast selection of traditional and contemporary designs that will be more than desirable heirloom pieces, to be handed down through generations as their ‘Something Borrowed’!

The Royal Jewellery

With her jewellery commissioned by bespoke jewellery designer Robinson Pelham, a great deal of thought and sentiment had gone in to even the finest detail of this very public yet personal wedding. Commissioned by her parents Michael and Carole Middleton as a wedding present and her ‘Something New,’ these diamond set drops were made to compliment the Cartier tiara that she wore on the day.

The jewellery was designed to echo the elements within the Middleton Family’s newly appointed Coat of Arms. The earrings that were so delicate and yet perfectly proportioned are made up of a stylised oak leaf with a pear-shaped diamond set drop and suspended pave set acorn at the centre.

The earrings that Robinson Pelham designed for the Duchess’s sister and maid of honour, Pippa, followed the organic theme with floral detailing to match her headdress of fresh flowers. The bespoke jeweller also created a matching tourmaline and diamond pendant and earrings set for the mother of the bride herself, and touching little gold stickpins, one with an acorn head and one with an oak leaf, for the father of the bride and her brother.

It is the impeccably presented, and well-considered details such as the accessories that really finish off such a polished procession! I can only hope that the fine example of British style orchestrated by the young royals may inspire many more couples to create a similarly refined and coordinated ensemble for their big day, and hopefully assisted by British manufacturer Richard Designs, theirs too will be a Right Royal Affair!

There was a clear indication that brides are becoming more adventurous with their accessories and are seeking something a little different and individual. Richard Designs are at the forefront of design and push the trends each show, and you will see that this March BBEH was no exception.

Wedding Veils

The favourite veil was this gorgeous C346B, with lace applique and crystal detail on the train of the veil. Elegant and modern, and easy to match to a gown with lace detailing.

In our destination themed collection, this C342A crystal wedding veil was very popular, with it’s modern embroidered detail mimicking the waves of the sea. This photograph shows the veil on our new sparkle silver tulle, with a subtle all-over glistening effect which can be added at no extra charge to any veil style.

The fun detail on this C345A captured the highly-sought after bow look with a modern, different twist. Hand applied silver crystals on the train of this veil give a beautiful look that would go perfectly with any dress incorporating bows. 

Tiaras

The sweeping side tiara TR1267A was a big hit, with it’s Swarovski moonlight crystals and soft, sweeping lines it is flattering and on-trend.

The TR1285A was seen on the catwalk shows this BBEH and was a huge hit with those looking for something modern and unique.

The TR1339A sat on our vintage tea party setting and is perfect for a vintage inspired wedding.

Jewellery

The Necklace, earring and bracelet set P533 filled the need for a simple, modern jewellery set incorporating pearl and crystal. Pictured here with Tiara TR1296A.

You all loved our chunky cuff bracelets like this P534B with an easy to fasten magnetic clasp - perfect for a bride who wants to make a statement.
