Art’s Organic Angels…The Sublime Seductions of Art Nouveau
The 2013-14 bridal season sees an emphasis on feminine, organic forms, inspired by nature.
Artists such as Alphonse Mucha, who depicts goddess-like women shrouded by silk swathes and floral adornment, continue to inspire gown designers this season, and influence the silhouettes and embellished detail of current dress collections.
There is a strong trend for more natural shapes in direct contrast to the geometric forms of Art Deco and the Gatsby movement of last season. The shapes are fluid and sculptural with sensitive organic and tactile forms, a variety of laces and fabrics and new combinations of components. Tiaras use Genuine Cultured Pearls combined with sparkling silver crystals in delicate, feminine lines, and can be worn in a variety of ways to work with your chosen hairstyle.
Divinely delicate circlets have re-emerged this season, to be worn with co-ordinating veils to create an innocent, demure look. Soft tulle veils, which sit to the side of the head, drape across the shoulder like an iconic Art Nouveau goddess. Simple but sensitive veil decoration includes details of the tiaras with delicate appliqués, and touches of lace and pearl. The organic undulating scalloped edges with delicate embroidered details are complimented by the simpler fine edged veils, which have a universal appeal.
Jewellery is unique and handcrafted with the greatest attention to detail. A truly ornamental statement piece, when paired with a modest dress and one of our beautiful belts, will finish the look perfectly and add that personal touch for any Bride who wants to customise their look.
