Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan’s Wedding Day: Get the Look

4 June 2015

The long awaited wedding of Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan took place at St Marys Church in Bury St Edmunds two weeks ago. The pictures had been kept underwraps until they were released in 'Hello' magazine this week. We were excited to finally get a gimpse of Michelle's wedding gown, veil and accessories! Here we take a look at Michelle's bridal style and show you how you could accessorise like Michelle on your wedding day!

The church was beautifully decorated with glass lantern candles and tall Ivory and evergreen floral trees lining the aisle. This added to the fairytale wedding that was about to take place! Michelle held a large round bouquet of white hydrangeas and double lisianthus, the groomsmen had matching button holes too.

Michelle wore a bespoke ivory wedding gown designed by Galia Lahav at Browns Bride. It had an overlay of French lace and was scattered with Swarovski crystals. Michelle's gown was complete with a full silk tulle fishtail skirt and a plunging deep-V back. This dress suited her perfectly! Mark wore a black tuxedo by Stephen Williams, complete with a neat black bow tie.

Michelle & Mark, Richard Designs - Embroidered lace veil C485B

Michelle accessorised her fitted lace gown with a very long, Italian veil by Peter Langer. It had detailed lace all the way around the edge, with a touch of pearl and added detail at the puddle of the train.

Michelle told Hello magazine: "I'm only going to get married once and it was always my dream to have a really long dramatic veil".  Michelle also wanted her veil to have a 'Spanish look' about it, as her late grandmother Beth was from Gibraltar.

To  get a similar look to Michelle's see our new single tier veil C485B. It has an intricate embroidered wavy edge, complete with delicate French lace, pearl and beaded detail flowing along the embroidery. This design would work well with many gowns, and has just the right amount of detail to complement a gown with a lace overlay.

Michelle's wedding dress & veil hanging up before the wedding, Richard Designs - soft tulle lace edge veil C353C

Michelle wore the long single tier veil tucked low in the back of her half up, half down do. It flowed elegantly behind her lace gown and complemented her dress beautifully!  If you want to achieve a similar look, our soft tulle veil, C353C has a fine French scalloped lace edge which would work well with many lace dresses. If ordered as a single tier this veil would give a similar soft scalloped look to Michelle's veil.

Mark Wright & Michelle Keegan at the alter, Richard Designs - Corded scalloped lace edge single tier veil C438C

If you like the shape of Michelle's veil but prefer corded lace, our C438C is a single tier veil with narrow scalloped corded lace all the way around the edge. Order in a 114" for a cathedral length or a 98" for a chapel length.

Michelle on her wedding day, Richard Designs - Teardrop & platinum pearl earrings P757E, E110 clustered drop earrings in silver, E130 chunky silver stud earrings.

Michelle finished her bridal look with some sparkling diamond drop earrings! If you want to achieve a similar style for your bridal earrings, take a look at our new chunky Swarovski drop earrings, P757E. We love these! They have a dazzling Swarovski crystal centre, outlined with tiny pearls, finished with a larger pearl above. Pictured with Platinum pearl but these can be ordered in Ivory too.

For more of a crystal look, our clustered crystal earrings, E110 are a great choice. There are two colours available, choose from silver or rose gold. If however you prefer a chunky stud, see our silver statement studs E130. There also matching tiaras available here.

After the ceremony the reception followed, at Hengrave Hall in Suffolk. Michelle changed for the evening into a short dress and high strappy sandals with a fluffy pom pom on the toe! The couple's wedding cake had five tall tiers that were decorated with white roses and surrounded by rose petals and candles to add to the fairytale atmosphere. The couple even completed a routine from the film 'Dirty Dancing' in front of all their guests!

We think that Mark and Michelle had the perfect mix of modern and traditional elements combined for their wedding day! We hope we have given you some ideas on how to accessorise like Michelle.
