Wedding Planning Tips: First things first
6 January 2015
If you recently got engaged or are about to start planning your big day, don't get stressed! This week we will provide some handy hints and tips to help get you started.
First things first:
Choose a date - What season would you like to get married, consider the time of year and temperature, this will effect what you wear, your theme and how long you have to plan it all!
Time scale - list all the things you need to organise in the time you have
Plan your budget and stick to it - how much do you have to spend on venue, dress, flowers, food etc.
Bridal Party - Decide who will be in your bridal party, think about bridesmaids, ushers and your best man.
Guest list - write up a guest list to help estimate your costs.
Choose a theme or colour scheme - think about if you want to stick to a particular theme and colours.
Dress - Decide if you want a made to order gown or an alternative.
It may help to keep an organised folder full of ideas to start with, print off pictures you like and collect leaflets and website links of venues and flower ideas. Or use a Pinterest board to collate your inspiration. Then create a planning section to keep note of all the things you have booked already, and the list of all the things you have left to organise. This will help you keep track of your planning and will keep all the important information in one safe place. (You could also keep a folder on your computer like this to save important documents and type up lists and ideas).
Every day this week, we will be giving you more handy wedding planning tips including some great suggestions for the flowers, entertainment and non traditional food ideas.
