Wedding Planning Tips: Useful Links and Resources
11 January 2015
Hopefully you have found our week of wedding planning helpful. Here are some final tips and things to remember to help organise your special day:
Remember you MUST get your photographer booked in early! Some get booked up a whole year in advance! It may be helpful to write a list for your photographer so they know of any particular group family photos you would like, this way names can be called out and no one will get missed out! It may be handy to keep the list on hand, or give it to the best man to help out with this.
Don't forget your transport - make sure you know how you and your bridal party are travelling to and from your venues so no one is left behind or is late to the ceremony!
Don't forget about the honeymoon! You may want to think about working it into your budget or even have a seperate budget. If you are going straight after your wedding day you may need to be packed ready to make a quick get away the next morning.
Remember to send your save the dates at least 6 months before the big day, just so your guests have more notice and are less likely to accidentally book a holiday that week!
Make sure your invitations include all the relevant information, including time, place and directions. You will also need to include an RSVP or state how guests should inform you if they can or cannot attend.
Don't forget about any gifts and thank you cards you may want to give out to your bridal party and guests. These will need planning in advance, you may want to order the cards at the same time as your invitations to save costs.
Beauty and accessories:
If your wedding date is fast approaching and you have not got 12 months to plan, do not panic! There are still many options out there for you! For example, you could hunt for a gown in a dress sample sale and then have it altered to fit, or discuss delivery dates with your local boutique to see which dresses are available to order in your time frame.
However if you have had your dress on order for months and are wondering if you have forgotten anything, have you remembered all the finer details?
Do you know exactly what jewellery you and your bridesmaids are wearing? If you want them all to match you will need to choose them before the big day. Take a look at our beautiful new stud earrings, they could be just the finishing touch you need. We have some lovely new styles all available in three different colours, see studs,E105, E106 and E107.
As well as sorting out your jewellery, you will also need to book in hair, make up or nail appointments in advance so there are no hair disasters on the big day. It is a good idea to have a hair trial if you are having your hair up so you know exactly how you want it on the day, this will save time too.
If you are not sure what to do with your nails and are worried about chipped varnish, think about booking a gel nail manicure. Gel nails usually last up to two weeks, so if you book them in just before your wedding they should still look great if you are going straight on your honeymoon.
Have you got your lingerie and accessories sorted? Remember even If you haven't got long before your wedding and then decide you must have a veil, we are often able to get a last minuite tiara or veil made within a week! Find your local Richard Designs stockist.
It may be worth thinking about if you want to have a different look from day to night. Some brides choose to wear a different dress for the evening, or you could try removing the straps, or just wearing a different accessory which could give a more relaxed evening vibe. You could even alter your make up for example add a bright lipstick just for the evening. We love this idea <3
Remember to wear in your shoes, to avoid blisters on your big day! Practise is key!
