Our History

Richard Designs is a family owned and run business, founded over 30 years ago. In that time we have grown to become the leading designer and manufacturer of bridal accessories in the UK, with stockists worldwide.

Richard Designs was founded as a bridal florists but quickly expanded into headdresses and veils. Tiaras, jewellery, mother of the bride hats and petticoats were all added over the subsequent decade. By 2002 international expansion beckoned and we opened our first office in California, USA to service our customers in North America.

As a company we have always maintained our independence which has allowed us to bring new innovations to market and lead the way in setting new trends. We are proud of our achievements and continue to build on them by forging close relationships with our partners and keeping brides at the forefront of everything that we do.

We are particularly proud of our record of employment and support for our local community over the years; helping numerous school leavers to start in a new career, supporting staff – recognising their skills with formal qualifications and we are proud to say some members of our team have worked with us for over 20 years.

In the past few years we have been honoured with recognition by our peers, receiving a number of awards and nominations.

Many of our very first customers now have children who are having weddings of their very own and we look forward to supporting them, and their children, long into the future.
